Thorne ADR, LLC was founded by Shannon Thorne. Previously, Shannon served as an attorney in Harris County. Her 10+ years of legal experience include insurance coverage litigation, marine and energy litigation including products liability litigation, personal injury and property damage litigation as well as advising clients on the interpretation and application of complex policy and contract provisions.
As a litigator, Shannon developed an eye for detail regarding how the wording of a contract provision can effectuate the broader intent of a party's agreement. As a mediator, it is this same eye for detail that allows her to retain a "big picture" perspective while assisting parties in working past the specificities of their disputes.
In 2016, Shannon made the transition to serve as a full-time mediator, specializing in alternative dispute resolution. Mrs. Thorne's mediation experience includes resolving such civil litigation matters such as contract disputes, property disputes, insurance coverage disputes, construction disputes, business disputes and personal injury claims.
Shannon has over 175 hours in conflict resolution training from the A.A. White Dispute Resolution Center and various continuing legal education courses. She is a member of the Texas Association of Mediators and the Alternative Dispute Resolution section of the State Bar of Texas.
As a mediator, Shannon practices compassionate listening and strives to help the parties explore both practical and creative solutions to their disputes. Such an approach empowers the parties to consider their mutual values and relationships in resolving their disputed claims.
